Ride Details

Each Ride averages 70 miles a day, with 2 overnight camping stops to relax and recharge your engines with food, friends, and a hot shower. All 3 routes include an opening ceremony on day 1 and a closing ceremony on day 3 to celebrate the efforts and dedication of every rider and crew member.

GYGIG’s events provide an opportunity to overcome physical and emotional challenges within a supportive Ride community. By completing the Ride, many participants find physical strength and emotional resolve they never even knew they had.

During the Ride, cyclists will be fully supported by the staff and the devoted, all-volunteer crew. GYGIG provides meals and route support, including fully stocked rest stops, sweep vehicles, and baggage transport between camps.

Most important, and common to every Ride, is the valuable opportunity to draw strength and support from fellow riders and volunteers, many of whom are touched in some way by the potentially devastating effects of Crohn’s and colitis. Wherever the Rides take you, you’ll always be supported by the solidarity of your peers. Whatever you may need, whether it’s a helping hand or maybe just someone to talk to, it’s only a few pedal strokes away.

All 3 routes are well suited to either a properly trained novice or a seasoned rider. The New York Ride is capped at 125 riders, and the Seattle and Midwest Rides are capped at 85 riders each. GYGIG’s Rides are participant focused and we strive to ensure the quality of each individual’s experience. Current Ride and route information is listed below:

There is an $85 registration fee for riders and crew, and each rider must raise at least $1,800 per Ride to participate. (Fundraising is voluntary for crew members.) All participants must be at least 18 years old on or before the check-in day for each Ride. Participants aged 12 to 17 may take part in certain circumstances if accompanied by a parent or guardian. For more information, please contact GYGIG at 1-718-875-2123 or e-mail us at info@IBDride.org. Riders and crew age 18 and older may register online here or download a registration form.
